How-To: Optimizing Images

Renaming images can be a simple yet effective way to keep your files organized and optimize them for SEO. Here's how you can rename images on different devices:
On Windows
Using File Explorer:
Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the image.
Right-click on the image you want to rename and select "Rename" from the context menu.
Type the new name and press Enter.
Using the F2 Key:
Select the image file in File Explorer.
Press the F2 key on your keyboard.
Enter the new name and press Enter.
Renaming Multiple Files:
Select multiple images by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking each one.
Right-click any of the selected images and choose "Rename."
Enter the new name, and all selected files will be renamed with sequential numbers (e.g., image (1), image (2), etc.).
On Mac
Using Finder:
Open Finder and locate the image you want to rename.
Click the image once to select it.
Press the Return key, type the new name, and press Return again.
Using the Context Menu:
Right-click on the image file and select "Rename."
Type the new name and press Enter.
Renaming Multiple Files:
Select multiple images by holding down the Command key and clicking each one.
Right-click any of the selected images and choose "Rename X Items."
Choose an option from the Rename Finder Items window, such as "Add Text," "Replace Text," or "Format."
Enter the new name details and click "Rename."
On iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Using the Files App:
Open the Files app and navigate to the image file.
Tap and hold the image until a menu appears.
Select "Rename."
Enter the new name and tap "Done."
Using the Photos App (Limited Renaming Options):
Note that renaming directly in the Photos app isn’t available, but you can save images to the Files app and rename them there.
On Android
Using the File Manager App:
Open the file manager app (the app may vary depending on the device, e.g., "My Files" on Samsung or "Files" by Google).
Navigate to the image file.
Tap and hold the image until a menu appears.
Select "Rename" or tap the three-dot menu and choose "Rename."
Enter the new name and tap "OK" or "Save."
Using the Gallery App (Some Devices):
Open the Gallery app and find the image you want to rename.
Tap and hold the image to select it.
Tap the three-dot menu or the pencil icon (if available) and choose "Rename."
Enter the new name and tap "Save."
Using Cloud Storage Services
Google Drive:
Open Google Drive in your web browser.
Navigate to the image file.
Right-click the image and select "Rename."
Enter the new name and click "OK."
Dropbox:
Open Dropbox in your web browser.
Navigate to the image file.
Click the three-dot menu next to the file and select "Rename."
