Ruth's Kitchen

Neil takes us down to Shelbyville, Tennessee to experience a treat south of Nashville that includes giant fries, a delicious patty melt and an amazing salad bar.

Hey everybody, this is Neil, again, with Tall Boy Marketing. So, when we started this series of “We’re Eating That,” it was places that people ask us where they should go and what they should eat when they're in Nashville, but the more ground we covered the more we realized that there are a lot more cooler places outside of Middle Tennessee that we really want to visit. So, we got highly recommended for this spot in Shelbyville called Ruth’s Kitchen. So, I got down here thinking they’d been around for like 65 years … this place has only been open for a year!

So, we came down here, our server, Alexis, we asked what we should order and ordered it up.

Joey got the kraut and dogs, I got the patty melt. Best part is … salad bar. And, I’m gonna guess everybody that’s watching this could tell me exactly every single item that was on there they did not have the little tiny corn. So, still worth a trip. But, what I got was a patty melt. You get your patty melt, you got your grilled onions here, you got everything just perfect. And, check this out, for proportion, these are the longest French fries I’ve ever seen in my life. Like how big was that potato? I mean, you can’t get this in Nashville. You need to come down here to Ruth's Kitchen in Shelbyville. Look at that! I can’t promise that everybody will get French fries that big, but it’s a pretty good chance. And they’re hot!

Man, that’s a good sandwich! This is so good. The cheese is melted perfectly. Caramelized onions.

Apparently, they hand pat out all their burgers and stuff, too, which, I’m for that! I don’t want no machine patted burgers, I want legit stuff! That’s what we’re goin’ for. And, the bread’s nice and toasted. It has that nice crunch like any good grilled cheese would have. I've never ordered a patty melt, but I’m glad I ordered this one.

This is Neil, with Tall Boy Marketing, here at Ruth’s Kitchen in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Yeah, we're eating that! Worth the drive.
