"Born a Crime"

It was Joey’s turn to pick out a new book for Tall Boy Book Club to read, and he did not let us down with Trevor Noah's “Born A Crime.”

My wife had recommended this book to me. It frames up a whole other perspective than the guy that hosts The Daily Show. This book talks about Trevor's upbringing in South Africa dealing with poverty, crime, and relationships with his family and friends. He's a great storyteller and does a really good job of making you understand what it was like growing up in the apartheid. I enjoyed reading about the relationship with his mother and how he hustled to make a living. It's a great read and I highly recommend it.

Tip: Read the book and prepare to see him in Nashville!

Did you know that The Daily Show with Trevor Noah landed a record number of seven Emmy Award nominations this year alone? You can witness the talents of this famous comedian when he brings his standup comedy tour back to Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on May 5, 2023. Tickets start at $49 and go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18 via ryman.com.
