ONE GRAND COOKOFF

Saturday, April 9 — 10am - 5pm

Ready to Sign Up for the One Grand Cookoff?

Registration fee is $35 per team. Teams can range from 1 - 10 members or support staff on hand. Each team will be given 10 wristbands once they arrive to delegate as needed. Wristbands must be worn by everyone consuming any food onsite during the event.

RULES

  1. NO EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT!

  2. Teams are to bring their own meats and everything they need to cook with, including a table, tent and chairs.

  3. All cooking must be done from start to finish on site. Meat can be seasoned or marinated in advance, but must be 100% cooked on site.

  4. All cooking must be done with wood, charcoal or propane. No electricity will be provided. No electric equipment or pellet smokers will be allowed. 

  5. Each team must provide an up-to-date fire extinguisher to have on hand throughout the cookoff or the team will not be able to participate.

  6. Each team will be assigned a 10ft x 20ft space to do all prep and cooking. 

  7. Each team will be required to provide 5 portions of every entry to be judged. Use your own discretion on deciding portion size and presentation. Judging boxes will be provided.

  8. Load in will begin at 8:00 am and fires can be started at this time, but no food can be placed onto a heat or smoke source before 10:00 am.

Judging

Meat categories will be judged on:

  1. Flavor (can we taste the meat)

  2. Seasoning (is it seasoned properly/balance)

  3. Preparation (was it cooked/prepared properly)

  4. Presentation (does it look appealing)

Cast Iron Category will be judged on:

  1. Presentation

  2. Flavor

  3. Originality

  4. Cast Iron Use (Is using Cast Iron the best for this dish?)

WHAT IS PROVIDED?

  1. All teams will be provided with a 10ft x 20ft space for all food prep and cooking.

  2. Turn in boxes for each entry in each category.

  3. Water supply for cleaning and cooking.

  4. Good music throughout the event. 

  5. Trash bags for cleaning up.

  6. Refreshments including water and soft drinks.

  7. Bathroom Facilities.

Awards will be given for each placement of 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category (prizes tbd) and one overall grand prize winner.
